Union President calls for inspectors
The president of the Free Trade Union yesterday sent a letter to the Ministry of Labour’s inspection department to monitor working conditions at M&V factories in Kampong Chhnang province, alleging excessive overtime is causing workers to faint. “They have to work both in day and night time. It means they work double. It is because the inspectors did not go down to monitor the working conditions in this factory,” FTU president Chea Mony told the Post yesterday. He said he did not send the letter to the provincial labour department officials because he knows that those officials cannot put pressure on the factory to change its working conditions. …
